Abstract | Intisari
Hardness is the resistance of a material or metal to deformation, consist compressive deformation or indentation. A spark plug is a component that functions as a spark needed to burn a mixture of air and compressed fuel. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of VHN hardness by conducting Vickers hardness testing using the Vickers Hardness Tester tool model HVS-1000S, and to find out what are the chemical elements contained in the components of the Spark Plug Engine O-200 by testing the chemical composition using the Optical Emission Spectroscopy (EOS). Observation method is a method used in data collection in this study. Data collection is carried out by testing at the Politeknik Manufaktur Ceper, Klaten and conducting library studies by collecting data sources from journals, books and other references. Vickers test results on the first point of 168.47 Kgf / mm2, at the second point of 166.93 Kgf / mm2, and at the third point of 165.43 Kgf / mm2. That it can be obtained an average hardness value of 166.94 Kgf / mm2. The results of the chemical composition test showed that the biggest element of iron (Fe) was 98.01% and manganese (Mn) was 1.034%. The Fe-Mn alloy element has good corrosion resistant properties, high strong resistance and can withstand high heat temperatures without affecting the function of these components when operating
