Abstract | Intisari

Aircraft maintenance is an important element in aviation which functions to ensure the airworthiness of aircraft operations. Then inspection, maintenance is carried out to the level of overhoul on the engine. The Boeing 737-900 ER type aircraft uses the CFM56-7B type engine and has many important systems, such as an oil system that is useful for lubricating every component. Oil that occurs due to lubrication oil on the friction of each component when the engine rotates resulting in high oil temperature. This is important to anticipate because it can result in damage or wear of engine components and eventually engine failure. This study aims to determine the causes, effects and efforts to overcome High Oil Temperature on the CFM56-7B Engine. This research is a qualitative research based on the problems that exist in the field, the data sources are taken directly, as well as documents from the company. The data were analyzed using data reduction techniques, namely simplifying data from observations during research and displaying data, that displaying test results obtained from observations and documentation, as well as interviews with engineers and mechanics of PT Batam Aero Technic. The type of data used is primary data obtained from company documents or records and the source is directly from the results of interviews. Then secondary data taken from related journals. methods used to collect data include literature study and interviews. High oil temperature is caused by damage to the O Ring Main Fuel/Oil Heat Exchanger component, which has exceeded 1500 flight hours, so the oil supply does not work normally and causes high oil temperature. Overcoming high oil temperature is by replacing the new O Ring Main Fuel/Oil Heat Exchanger. Inspection or maintenance of oil system components must be carried out periodically with the applicable maintenance manual. This is one way of prevention that can be done besides that so that the same problem does not occur. Keyword : maintenance, replacement, high oil temperature, CFM56-7B
